'Best Western'

Exciting news! I'm having an exhibition in a week and a half! Eeeeek!
It's been a massive secret because it's in conjunction with Perth Fashion Festival, I had to wait till they released their (unbelievable) program where the event was listed before I could tell you guys, or anyone else for that matter! This year I am PFF's official illustrator which means I get an exhibition with them, attendance to all the shows and some other amazing opportunities that, you guessed it, I cant tell you yet!

For now I can give you a rundown on the exhibition and an image;)
" 'Best Western' is an exhibition by Fashion Illustrator Pippa McManus where she presents her interpretation of Perth Fashion Festival's 2012 campaign images. The illustrator exhibits 10 works in her signature style of sultry yet elegant women in bright pops of colour, rendered with soft charcoals, edgy splashes of spray paint and drippy acrylics. Face of the Festival Nicole Pollard comes to life on the canvas, with McManus paying homage to the great fashion design talent that comes from our State. McManus puts an artist's spin on the beautiful works of photographer Pierre Toussaint. All prints are exclusive editions of 3 and the original works will be for sale on the opening night."

Pippa McManus + Aurelio Costarella + Jeans West

A few months back Aurelio Costarella asked me to create an illustration for a charity he was working closely with. I used ink on watercolour paper to produce the original illustration of the Venus gown (above left) and Photoshop to colour the final product (top)! We were so excited when the totes hit the stores, and I have spotted quite a few being carried around the city;) They can be purchased for $19.99 through Jeans West stores and also online here. $5 from every tote purchased goes to Pink Ribbon Day!

Seeing Double Exhibition

Well, the lovely Ann Nie from Tu asked be to be her second ever exhibitor at her new Stairwell Gallery! It opened last week and was such a fantastic night! This collection you may notice is a bit softer than my last exhibition and the girls are more sweet than sultry but you can read more about it here or with the lovely Emma Bergmeier on her Dropstitch blog. The 20 works are all prints from a range of colour pencil fashion illustrations I did exclusively for the exhibition. Each piece has a sister. All are editions of 10 (so you have ten chances to nab one!) and come framed, some with coloured mats and are $240 each. You can purchase the artwork by contacting Tu: info@tu.com.au

In other news I now have a Facebook artist page! You can check it out and 'like' me here
Also Proenza Schouler retweeted my sketch Show illustration a couple of days ago!!!
